Zenith Town Planning commenced trading in July 2007.  The principal, Allen Grimwood, is a qualified geographer and town planner who has over two decades of experience in urban and regional planning as a consultant and decision-maker, with local government and in research positions.

With specialist skills in project management, sustainable design, environmental, social & economic assessment, heritage management, tourism development and strategic land use planning, Allen is a Registered Planner with the Planning Institute of Australia.

Allen has been appointed to the NSW Far South Coast Committee of Regional Development Australia for the period 2015 to 2017, a partnership between all levels of government to promote the growth and economic development of regional communities.  He was a state member of the Southern Joint Regional Planning Panel for the term 2009 to 2016 which acts as the consent authority for regional development, reviews rezoning proposals and advises the NSW Minister on planning matters of regional significance.  Allen was an occasional acting chair of the regional panel.

Allen has delivered conference papers on creating sustainable settlements, urban design and place-based planning. He received an Award for Excellence (Rural and Regional Planning Achievement) in 2003 and a Commendation for Excellence (Urban Design Plans and Ideas) in 2005 from the Planning Institute of Australia whilst managing a local government planning team.  He has also presented to forums such as the Planning Institute (NSW Division), Canberra Urban and Regional Futures (University of Canberra) and the RDA on decision-making practices in NSW.

Zenith Town Planning has collaborative working relationships with state agencies and many local government authorities across NSW. The business goal is to provide dedicated, economical and specialist planning services ranging from preparing and assessing complex development applications to preparing planning schemes, strategies and policy.  Examples of projects can be provided on request.
